Simple, chic, New York!

Walking around in New York is the best fashion inspiration – it’s like a „live Instagram feed“.

Find chic work outfits in Midtown, boho styles in Soho or latest outfit trends straight from the runway in Meatpacking District.

One thing I love about the city is to wear whatever I want, either dressing up for a quick shopping trip or walking around in sportswear – everything that looks cool is tolerated as a street style-chic.

Apparently there were a few fashion pieces, that I spotted everywhere in New York.

-       First the créme de la top, the crop top, is a must have piece this summer. It is all about showing some skin and in best case some abs. It can be paired with jeans, high-waist shorts or fancier to top off a leather or pencil skirt.

-       Although some people think that the high-waist shorts is ubiquitous with festival looks, the flattering denim piece is a summer highlight all season long.

-       35 degrees Celsius (95 F) and boots? Yes, and I love it! Another festival inspired street style trend are ankle boots, they are great staples year-around, if you style them wisely. The shoe trend is versatile, from pairing boots with dresses or shorts, to finishing off your going-out jeans look.

All I need for my favorite NYC street-style look, is a pair of Levis denim shorts, a black cropped top, which I bought in a small designer boutique in Shanghai (French Concession – near Huahei Rd.) and a pair of Steve Madden boots.
