Happy September to you!

Now it’s fall, and I am ready for it – well okay almost ready. My head knows its fall, my mood too but my fall wardrobe is weak-minded.

32 degrees Celsius in Salzburg in the middle of September is not usual.

The weather forecast changes every day. Another last heat-wave, but not yet an Indian Summer, one day later the TV anchor talks about a cold front edging down from northwest – so what? Dear weather, make up your mind!

Running around in Flip-Flops and beach dresses was fun while lasted, but now I desire to wear my new fall wardrobe. The only problem is the weather hasn’t gotten the memo.

My closet has always been a little chaos but now it has fallen in a season depression. I keep piling those summer clothes past their due date and at the same time I can’t stop shopping new fall must haves.

Well I found a way wearing my favorite fall pieces when temps are still topping 30 degrees.

I straddle that hot/cool line, while mixing summer with fall clothes. Wearing my new scarf from accessorize, ankle boots from ZARA and a black button down shirt from Mango with some summer shorts from Urban Outfitters instead of long jeans.

Head to toe white before summer is over

Dear Summer 2015,

you were/ are hot! It’s that kind of a summer day that makes the air feel muggy and even wearing a light dress or shorts, can be a torture. Don’t get me wrong I love summer, but it’s really really hard to look good when I am drenched in sweat. But enough complaining, in a few months I’ll probably be writing a story about how hard it is to look cute when it’s cold outside.

That’s why I embrace the last heat wave by wearing one of my favorite summer looks. A head-to-toe all white outfit that looks great for almost every occasion.

This summer I came up with a fashion strategy. Instead of a thick push up bra I choose a light bandeau or a bikini top under my summery tops or strappy sundress. They are not as thick and stifling as a bra but still provide support.

My summer farewell outfit is a white dress from a small designer boutique in Soho, NY, a neon turquoise colored Victoria Secret bikini bandeau, paired with Steve Madden platform sandals.

The simple look get spiced up with some accessories, an ALICE + OLIVIA tote bag, gold colored bracelets from ALDO and retro style sunglasses from Urban Outfitters.

Simple, chic, New York!

Walking around in New York is the best fashion inspiration – it’s like a „live Instagram feed“.

Find chic work outfits in Midtown, boho styles in Soho or latest outfit trends straight from the runway in Meatpacking District.

One thing I love about the city is to wear whatever I want, either dressing up for a quick shopping trip or walking around in sportswear – everything that looks cool is tolerated as a street style-chic.

Apparently there were a few fashion pieces, that I spotted everywhere in New York.

-       First the créme de la top, the crop top, is a must have piece this summer. It is all about showing some skin and in best case some abs. It can be paired with jeans, high-waist shorts or fancier to top off a leather or pencil skirt.

-       Although some people think that the high-waist shorts is ubiquitous with festival looks, the flattering denim piece is a summer highlight all season long.

-       35 degrees Celsius (95 F) and boots? Yes, and I love it! Another festival inspired street style trend are ankle boots, they are great staples year-around, if you style them wisely. The shoe trend is versatile, from pairing boots with dresses or shorts, to finishing off your going-out jeans look.

All I need for my favorite NYC street-style look, is a pair of Levis denim shorts, a black cropped top, which I bought in a small designer boutique in Shanghai (French Concession – near Huahei Rd.) and a pair of Steve Madden boots.

9-to-5 chic

Thinking about what to wear to work sometimes feel like a job itself.

Dressing for the office during summertime can be a real challenge. Especially summers in New York are melting hot and that makes the dressing choice not easier. Thanks to this air condition-loving city my way to work feels like a sauna in and out.

Walking a few blocks getting to the Subway makes me sweat, the subway ride itself is freezing cold and the office temperature is quite ok. I want to beat the heat outside, but I also want a sophisticated look, which makes for a tricky combination.

I am a huge fan of minimalism. Classic black and white is my favorite. It looks professional, but trendy.

My favorite work outfit this week was quite simple and perfect for humid temperatures.

Yesterday I found the perfect dress for work. The little black one from American Apparel is very light and airy. Anchored with white Steve Madden old school wedges the outfit got a stylish attitude twist. Mix in some accessories to go from work to dinner to after-party in a flash.

Rich kid's playground #hamptons

Spotted: The Hamptons

What a weekend! Who thinks NYC is crazy, has never partied in the Hamptons. It feels like I was playing at the rich kids’ playground for a few days. Even though we had a great time I am happy to be back in the city – or better say back to real life.

Unbelievable self-named designers who are only talking about their dogs, people who think money rules the world and so many rich kids who can’t have fun without „party pills“ – actually the more I keep rethinking the last days the happier I am to live a simple life.

It was about staying in a villa with pool, hopping from beach house BBQs to pool parties, clubs and after parties with Travis Scott and Rihanna dancing next to our table.

„You never know how many friends you have until you own a beach house“ – says a quote in a picture hanging in one of the spots we have been to. It feels like we made friends with a lot of people this weekend.

People who see all my Hamptons pictures might think “wow amazing”, others might be jealous and haters just roll their eyes – but I can tell all of you it looks great from the outside but in reality – looking inside these people’s lives - it is all fake and I am sure all of us are living a more happier life than these self-named fame celebs, anorexic gold diggers and millionaire wannabes.

However, despite all the craziness, I would lie if I said we didn’t have fun. We met equally many cool and nice people, listened and danced to some good music, experienced awesome insane beach-spots and bumped into Riri.
